When did cops become nothing more than a legal debating team?

This is the real problem with auditors pushing the limit. The enforcement. Are the cops LAW enforcement? Or a debating team.

An hour to accomplish what SHOULD have been over and done in 30 seconds or less.

Cop: License, registration, insurance, please.

Driver: I don't have them. I don't need them. I'm not driving. I'm traveling.

Cop: Second try (holding up two fingers). License, registration, insurance, please

Driver: You have no authority over me.

Cop: Please step out of the vehicle, Sir.

Driver: No

Cop: Second try, Sir. (holding up two fingers). Please step out

Driver: Go *advertiser censored* yourself.

Cop: puts on his face shield and gloves, places hands on top edge of glass and says, Third try. Please step out or I will break your window, pull you out and arrest you.

Driver: Please articulate the crime

Cop: Pulls window out of frame, shattering it, reaches in, opens the handle, extricates the driver, cuffs him, places him under arrest, into the car, booked, and now any further debate can be done between the driver and the judge.

To me, it seems like people that NEED the police are misdialing 912, the Leisure Police instead of 911 when they call. This video is more the rule rather than the exception when police come on scene. What can be handled by COMPETANT enforcement in under a minute can take hours to run its course.

And as Mr. America says, "THAT'S why auditors do what they do" (and get away with it)

What would allow the officer to act in that capacity? How would they prove jurisdiction? They are LAW enforcement not policy enforcement, trying to harass and collect ,under of color of law is actually a felony violating the drivers civil rights and they immediately lose their qualified immunity and open themselves up to federal lawsuits.

In my opinion, in this scenario, it is up to the driver to immediately place this cop under citizens arrest.

Lastly, did this road pirate illegally have his emergency lights on???? #RespectTheFez

No license. No registration. No proof of insurance. The three basics that a driver must have in most states to be fully compliant with the law. These are not policies. Those are not security guards.

Zero Tolerance. Period. The only way to stop Frauditing is to make it pay to Fraudit. This means training for LEOs, and for workers at typical Frauditor targets - Post Offices, Town and City Halls.

Identify that the annoying putz with the camera is a Frauditor. This is easy, as they all follow the same script.

As soon as the Frauditor is IDed as such, call the cops IMMEDIATELY.

Engage with the Frauditor as little as possible till the cops show.

When the cops arrive, IMMEDIATELY have the frauditor trespassed. It is absolutely your right to do so, for pretty much any reason. Insist on this. Some cops will attempt to "reason" with the Frauditor. Make it clear to them that you're not having it. Trespass them immediately, accept no other outcome. It's YOUR business, not the Frauditor's, nor the cop's.

Ask the cops to shut the Frauditor's camera off. Some cameras loop around, erasing the oldest footage. That's evidence. Shut the camera off immediately to preserve it.

You want to have the Frauditor removed with as little drama as possible. Make the video boring. With any luck, the Frauditor will revert to type and get his/her butt arrested. All the better, as that means lawyer fees, court costs, lost time from work.

Zero Tolerance. Make 'em pay....

The only ones that have any qualms about ZERO tolerance in law enforcement are the ones chronically violating the law.

Cops should show up and do their job. ENFORCING EXISTING law instead of debating legislature as if they're Congressmen on the House floor or judges interpreting and applying the existing laws.

They are just expressing free speech and more importantly, gathering content for a story....
